This Queensland Senator has doggedly trudged a long road since her fish-frying days in Ipswich. In some ways she can be described as an innovator in the world of political muckraking. After all, she was already appealing to people’s fears, fueling their prejudices and demonizing minorities with repeated simple messages at a time when Donald J Trump was just a dime store property developer with a tacky TV show. This picture also features her former advisor, a very flaky piece of work called James Ashby, whom she ditched unceremoniously when he became a liability. I’m sure the patriotic Senator would be proud to be associated with such a beautiful, uniquely Australian, and yet venomous animal as the Redback Spider. I’m not sure how the spiders would feel about it though.
